funny thing happened in Teacher Training the other day during lunch... for yoga.. you're suppose to advocate a vegetarian diet... well it's preferrable you don't have to... but obviously most people do.... I went down to macs with this other girl and as we stared at the rows and rows of sandwiches I said "don't you feel guilty buying meat now?" and then she laughed out loud and said yes... she really only goes vegan on the weekends of traning... phew.. that made me feel better.. so we both grabbed for the egg salad.... then today I grabbed the chicken salad... and as I ate it... we just started to talk about the vegan diet and it's just sorta comical that I ate chicken in front of everyone while I nodded my head ... in agreement to what they are saying as I ate my delicious meaty sandwich. but I am finding much much easier to eat more and more vegetables and pull back the meat... and it truly does make you feel better.... tomorrow... i have a tupperware full of spinach, broccoli, snow peas (Lindsay got me addicted) and green peppers.... mmm just getting hungry thinking about it....

Vince Carter can no longer mix it during warm ups... let Him be with his IPOD!
LOS ANGELES -- For Vince Carter, yesterday was the day the music died -- at least during pregame warm-ups.
The mercurial star with the Toronto Raptors, who has not exactly sprinted out of the starting blocks this season, received more damaging news yesterday when the National Basketball Association determined his portable stereo unit is off limits in warm-ups.
The 27-year-old shooting guard had been listening to music on his trendy iPod on the basketball court during pregame warm-ups, chilling privately with his tunes while practising jump shots with his teammates.
Yesterday, the NBA said Carter's quest for inner peace through his headphones did not conform to the league guidelines on proper attire on the court. The league has asked him to put the music player away.
"Vince isn't allowed to be wearing the iPod," said Brian McIntyre, the NBA's senior vice-president of basketball communications. "You won't be seeing him wearing it again in the future."
Carter was shocked when told the news yesterday afternoon after practice. The Raptors, who have two games left in a six-game road trip, will play the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center tonight.
"Why?" an uncomprehending Carter said. "Oh, Lord!"
Carter said he did not want to comment on the development, but said he loves to listen to music to prepare himself for the rigours of competition.
"It's going to hurt [my routine] big time," Carter said. "I like to listen to music when I'm working out, doing all that. That was my chance to really kind of relax yet focus in. I focus in when I have music on."
It has been Carter's focus during the games that has been questionable.
Through seven games this year, Carter is averaging 14.3 points a game, about eight points less than what he averaged last season. Twice during this current road trip, Carter has found himself on the end of the bench during the fourth quarter while rookie coach Sam Mitchell went with his reserves to try to win games.
Carter took the news of his iPod banning harder than his benching.
"I'm suing," he said with a laugh when asked about Mitchell's early-season coaching moves.
Carter said it is still early in the season -- despite a 1-3 record on the current road trip, the Raptors are still 4-3 overall -- and he does not feel any pressure to change the way he is playing.
"Nope, just be who I am," he said, echoing a familiar refrain. "I'm just going to keep playing. It's what's good for the team. Right now we've got a lot of guys scoring. By me taking 25 or 30 shots -- for what? That's disrupting a team.
"I've never ever cared about numbers. I'm hearing for the first time what I'm averaging. I don't care. I'm trying to get this team to the playoffs, get deep in the playoffs, get back to where we were in 2000, 2001. That's what it's all about right now."

New york new york!!!

Well well well... Mr. Ho, one of my long time friends is on his way to Lew York city to critique and re-invent art, trends, lifestyles with is remarkable talent. It's been a long road since the days of Mrs. Jahn's (<-- can't remember how to spell that psycho's name) grade seven art class. There's no point in competing cause this guy is simply the best at what he does. Our little man is growing up! "The desire to grow is like a beautiful flower. it msut root in the world and it must grow, Piercing through the surface of earth and unfolding into the light."
Click on the above to be redirected to this guys crazy ass portfolio. You will be impressed.

Ha ha... sweet! Another "reason" to buy an ipod....Gourd iPod speakers
They come in an extremely limited edition of just 80, but these portable Gourd Speakers from Bird Electron are made out of actual gourds, not weird plastic replicas like those fake coconuts you get to drink out of at Trader Vics (its not so bad, we just thought we were going to get a real coconut, thats all). You just knew that sooner or later someone as going to target the iPod-loving, eco-hippie market.
P.S. - Theyre pitching them as iPod speakers, but obviously thesell work on anything with an 1/8-inch jack.

FLICK OF THE WEEK!

The Icredibles is INCREDIBLE!!! This movie F*ckin rocks!!!!! If you haven't seen it yet then go out and see it.... yes I have to say, it was better then Nemo... and that sh*t is pretty good already. The Best Charcter - Edna mode... this b*tch is the sh*t!!!! I love it. The humor in it is a little more mature with regards to the social situations. The worst part of the movie, well it was the previews actually... for once, the previews were terrible... they we're all so.... PG... terrible. Anyways... yups... this movie rocks, I give it two thumbs and a Pen*s up!

We remember....
On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, Canadians are asked to pause and remember the thousands of men and women who sacrificed their lives fighting for freedom and democracy during the First World War, the Second World War, the Korean War and during peacekeeping missions
In Flanders FieldsIn Flanders fields the poppies blowBetween the crosses, row on row,That mark our place; and in the skyThe larks, still bravely singing, flyScarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days agoWe lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,Loved, and were loved, and now we lieIn Flanders Fields.Take up our quarrel with the foe:To you from failing hands we throwThe torch; be yours to hold it high.If ye break faith with us who dieWe shall not sleep, though poppies growIn Flanders fields.- John McCrae, 1915

Ahh group meetings.....
Well it is suffice to say that I survived the monday where I woke up from at 5 to drive my dad to the airport, volunteer at the welness and health career fair from 7-9 am, then class form 930-5, then presentation from 5-6, then work from 6-1am. That I must say was a spectacular day. You wouldn't believe how busy tim horton's is at 5 am... some people are just machines!!!!
But yes... today is ENTI 381 presentation day and we made about 270 in profits (so about 50 bucks each)... we practiced our presentation at 7am and I think the team is sick of my sarcasm...

if you're ever in Macewan hall on Wednesday Nov 3, or Friday the 5th, then check our booth out, you get some crazy ass fightin fish, the awaurium, food, and decor all for $15. After two days of operations, we have covered our costs for the SU table as we are making a much more decent return, especially when one of my group members are really into and is shopping around.
