Belgium posts comin' up soon!

Easter weekend was a weekend of waffles, beer, and chocolate... and also a helluva lot of walking (of course). This time went solo from the A'dam but met up with some familiar faces from Dublin!: Nicole, David, Rebecca, and Hester and some met some new faces along the way. In a nutshell, Brussels main square was gorgeous, and anything outside of the old centre was very 'administrative' so nothing too too exciting, Bruges was GORGEOUS and I can see why people keep going back; they refer to it as the Venice of the north, and Ghent was very nice but didn't really get a chance to really stop and enjoy the city. Nic and I made a 40 min stop in Antwerp to change trains and the train station was MASSIVE. It's a city where 70% of the world's diamonds are traded through there and from the reviews it's one of Belgiums funnest cities (will definitely return there before I go back to Canadadia. Beer was unbelievable, but too bad my tolerance ain't up there because i would have like to try all 400+ Belgium beers! oh well... that means time for another visit!

this map is a little more clear...
