Zaanse Schans

Few weeks ago, got a call from Wendy and Ellen that they would like to take us to Zaase Schans. Zaanse Schans is a town fully inhabited, open-air conservation area and museum on the bank of the river Zaan in the Netherlands with characteristic green wooden houses, tradesmen's workshops, historic windmills that can be seen in action from the inside and little shops including the very first shop of Albert Heijn.

The country side and the town was very "cute" and it was nice to see the traditional products and cliches of the Dutch. Wendy actually lives in Zaanse Schans and thus was our tour guide for the day as Ellen did all the driving. the trip was amazing! Thanks girls! I feel a greater connection to my dutch roots...
