Well time has come to finally see LP on their European tour!!! and why not check out a bunch of other bands... been waiting two months for this day and it has finally come!!! (ps pinkpop was last weekend)so having it be the LAST long weekend in the Netherlands until Christmas... yes that is right - might was well do it up with my favourite band!

So my rock buddies from Amsterdam are CY, EC, and C and plan to meet up with Nicole from Utrecht and the Maastricht crew as they are camping it all three days (hardcore). C and EC have an interesting way of diviing up their music tastes... from ol'schoo classics, to britney to OLP...

The itinerary: rent car, drive to Utrecht and crash at Dian's/celebrate her birthday/have up some Indonesian food!! :)
Then next day drive to Laandgraaf rock it out for 12 or so hours and then trek it back to Amsterdam, estimated time of arrival back at home: 3am Tuesday morning in time for work at 8am.
In a nutshell: food and Dian's was Crazy sick... killed the boys at poker (yeah baby!!!)...Pinkpop was crazy and LP was SICK!!!! (damn shouldn't have sold those Paris tickets)...
pics and vids of last weekend's experience...

social gathering during the barbecue.. eventually this naturally breaks out into guy group and girl group...

I thought it was the coolest thing to have a machine chill a small keg of beer and have it come out on tap - then when you used it ... you get a HELL of a LOT of Head... i guess the machine was from Belgium... but it has Amstel beer as the logo.... hmmm...maybe not.

made it!
Met up with Nic and the Maastricht crew who camped all the nights.

Three stages with the big acts on two main ones. There were TONS of people... if you've ever seen the Live in Texas DVD of LP... that is what it was like... sick.

The concert Plan: Stone sour (when we got there)
Scissor sisters
Dave Matthews
Arctic Monkeys
Linkin Park (sacrifice Korn)
Evanescence
Smashing Pumpkins
had to run from one stage to the other but definitely possible. As they alternated stages, then the next band would be able to set up.
#1: scissor sisters

lunch... MASSIVE wrap that cost me 6 Eur... god damn.. but it was good.
#2: Dave Matthews

#3: Arctic Monkeys

#4: LP!!!!
After Arctic monkeys, Nicole and I made a pact to elbow and crawl our way to the pit area, but not in the smashed area at the front. There's is a sectioned off area for the pit and had to come in through the left where there were less people. We had to give up Macy Gray/Korn at the other stages (oh darn...) but it was well worth it! It entailed climbing walls and getting chased for a few seconds by security (until we disappeared in the opposing traffic hee hee... CY had to go with the flow (no wall climbing) but she made it too.

The LP set was GROSS..... can't even use sick to describe it... brought back so many memories of Vancouver and more!! Before I thought their new album was ok... but now after attending it live with such amazing energy... the album rocks... the best song off Minutes live i would say is "Bleed It Out"... song's got an amazing beat to rock to..Warning the following vids are Blair Witch Stylz...
Great opening with "One Step Closer"
Points of Authority

Great VID of the last 1.5 acts of LP
#5: Evanescence
before my camera went out , Evanesence was the last part I got... brought back flames memories... Amy Lee can really rock it out live.
