Conditions were perfect.. not too hot and not too cold, not too icy and not too powdery... there were just a little too many people today. Went with Phildo, Ant, and met Richard who is Anthony's Engg friend. Too bad Phil was late picking me up or else could've had some more runs in between. peace... now gotta go do DBL... oh pic above is my new BABY! She was acquired on Boxing Day and only from the Source, where there is awesome boarding crap... Thanks Mom!

Done and Done! ... Now off to work I go! woo hoo!
Well the past two week I must say have been very interesting. Both eventful and uneventful. First off we can say that nobody enjoys exam week and after doing an 8 month co-op term I thought I would enjoy school... i did... but exam week just triggered as to why I wanted to get out. It so sad when you have to sit in the same chair, write on teh same table and look at powerpoint slides over and over and over again while the days go from sunrise - sunset - sunrise - sunset. But there were days when I saw 2 sun rises and 2 sun sets on one period of no sleep. Amazing huh? I remember going to yoga that day at 7 pm and could hardly keep my eyes open.. I though it would do me good.. but it was bad cause every time I looked at the mat the ground would start shaking... i guess that's what it's like to be on Speed. As trippy as it was I still made it and was able to go home and sleep at a normal time... but there was no use in that cause the last two exams kept me up until 3 am anyways. My mom was always bitching that I stay up too late and that I would be too tired to write my good ol HROD and FNCE. but was was great was that there was teacher training on both weekends... bad for exams, but good for th'soul. first weekend did a lot more bonding with class mates and boy will I miss them.. I can't beleive teacher training isn't until feb... i think... second weekend we did 108 sunsalutations event to raise money for street teams safe house society that help get adolescent prostitutes like me off the street... we raised 10,000! desptie there only being 64 participants but then again one girl did raise about 4000.. good on her! I even got to each about 6 os the sun salutations (which I think I f*cked up caus eI lost count afterawhile).. i had to do from 84 to 90 and it was funny cuas ewhen I was doing 84 I made up this bs about the meaning of it in chinese... 4 yes it means death... but I said if you MISpronouned the word it oculd sound like breath... so I said keep that richness in breath.. ha ha... the one chinese girl who was in my teacher training gave me the "i know you are bs-ing" look which was pretty funny cause she gotta crack out of it. yup... adn then they drew prizes after and I got a new lll yoga mat and a toque.. now how sweet is that! the sunday after we went to the calgary hindu temple society and it was wuite interesting and enlightening... i've got much more respect and for hindu culture and the services they attend every sunday are very unique! it made me reflect that one day I should get more invovled with the chinese spiritual side of things... other than that two exams back to back and now i'm here at work waiting for the darn reports to refresh so I can go home and get some much needed sleep. then tmrw is shopping day with Secret Santa Bonanza 2004... the first ever where we draw names AT the mall.. i know... isn't that gross? oh well it'll be fun... anyways gotta jets...
peace out
Carl

Merry Xams (pretty clever, only switched two letters)

So it is the last week of classes and I am running on my last bit of fuel. Group projects are wrapping up and Exams are next week! My God... just kill me now... I also have teacher training again this weekend... I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing... bad in asense I'll have no time to study.... but good by the fact that I will be relaxed. A semester gone ad gone again.. and all I can say is.. holy sh*t was that ever fast. I don't think a semester is ever long... I've met so many beautiful people this semester (both inside and out) and I am very thankful for surrounding myself with them and having them allow me to get to know them a little more.. I wish all you crazy kids good luck on your exams!

funny thing happened in Teacher Training the other day during lunch... for yoga.. you're suppose to advocate a vegetarian diet... well it's preferrable you don't have to... but obviously most people do.... I went down to macs with this other girl and as we stared at the rows and rows of sandwiches I said "don't you feel guilty buying meat now?" and then she laughed out loud and said yes... she really only goes vegan on the weekends of traning... phew.. that made me feel better.. so we both grabbed for the egg salad.... then today I grabbed the chicken salad... and as I ate it... we just started to talk about the vegan diet and it's just sorta comical that I ate chicken in front of everyone while I nodded my head ... in agreement to what they are saying as I ate my delicious meaty sandwich. but I am finding much much easier to eat more and more vegetables and pull back the meat... and it truly does make you feel better.... tomorrow... i have a tupperware full of spinach, broccoli, snow peas (Lindsay got me addicted) and green peppers.... mmm just getting hungry thinking about it....

Vince Carter can no longer mix it during warm ups... let Him be with his IPOD!
LOS ANGELES -- For Vince Carter, yesterday was the day the music died -- at least during pregame warm-ups.
The mercurial star with the Toronto Raptors, who has not exactly sprinted out of the starting blocks this season, received more damaging news yesterday when the National Basketball Association determined his portable stereo unit is off limits in warm-ups.
The 27-year-old shooting guard had been listening to music on his trendy iPod on the basketball court during pregame warm-ups, chilling privately with his tunes while practising jump shots with his teammates.
Yesterday, the NBA said Carter's quest for inner peace through his headphones did not conform to the league guidelines on proper attire on the court. The league has asked him to put the music player away.
"Vince isn't allowed to be wearing the iPod," said Brian McIntyre, the NBA's senior vice-president of basketball communications. "You won't be seeing him wearing it again in the future."
Carter was shocked when told the news yesterday afternoon after practice. The Raptors, who have two games left in a six-game road trip, will play the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center tonight.
"Why?" an uncomprehending Carter said. "Oh, Lord!"
Carter said he did not want to comment on the development, but said he loves to listen to music to prepare himself for the rigours of competition.
"It's going to hurt [my routine] big time," Carter said. "I like to listen to music when I'm working out, doing all that. That was my chance to really kind of relax yet focus in. I focus in when I have music on."
It has been Carter's focus during the games that has been questionable.
Through seven games this year, Carter is averaging 14.3 points a game, about eight points less than what he averaged last season. Twice during this current road trip, Carter has found himself on the end of the bench during the fourth quarter while rookie coach Sam Mitchell went with his reserves to try to win games.
Carter took the news of his iPod banning harder than his benching.
"I'm suing," he said with a laugh when asked about Mitchell's early-season coaching moves.
Carter said it is still early in the season -- despite a 1-3 record on the current road trip, the Raptors are still 4-3 overall -- and he does not feel any pressure to change the way he is playing.
"Nope, just be who I am," he said, echoing a familiar refrain. "I'm just going to keep playing. It's what's good for the team. Right now we've got a lot of guys scoring. By me taking 25 or 30 shots -- for what? That's disrupting a team.
"I've never ever cared about numbers. I'm hearing for the first time what I'm averaging. I don't care. I'm trying to get this team to the playoffs, get deep in the playoffs, get back to where we were in 2000, 2001. That's what it's all about right now."

Well well well... Mr. Ho, one of my long time friends is on his way to Lew York city to critique and re-invent art, trends, lifestyles with is remarkable talent. It's been a long road since the days of Mrs. Jahn's (<-- can't remember how to spell that psycho's name) grade seven art class. There's no point in competing cause this guy is simply the best at what he does. Our little man is growing up! "The desire to grow is like a beautiful flower. it msut root in the world and it must grow, Piercing through the surface of earth and unfolding into the light."

Ha ha... sweet! Another "reason" to buy an ipod....Gourd iPod speakers
They come in an extremely limited edition of just 80, but these portable Gourd Speakers from Bird Electron are made out of actual gourds, not weird plastic replicas like those fake coconuts you get to drink out of at Trader Vics (its not so bad, we just thought we were going to get a real coconut, thats all). You just knew that sooner or later someone as going to target the iPod-loving, eco-hippie market.
P.S. - Theyre pitching them as iPod speakers, but obviously thesell work on anything with an 1/8-inch jack.

FLICK OF THE WEEK!

The Icredibles is INCREDIBLE!!! This movie F*ckin rocks!!!!! If you haven't seen it yet then go out and see it.... yes I have to say, it was better then Nemo... and that sh*t is pretty good already. The Best Charcter - Edna mode... this b*tch is the sh*t!!!! I love it. The humor in it is a little more mature with regards to the social situations. The worst part of the movie, well it was the previews actually... for once, the previews were terrible... they we're all so.... PG... terrible. Anyways... yups... this movie rocks, I give it two thumbs and a Pen*s up!

We remember....
On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, Canadians are asked to pause and remember the thousands of men and women who sacrificed their lives fighting for freedom and democracy during the First World War, the Second World War, the Korean War and during peacekeeping missions
In Flanders FieldsIn Flanders fields the poppies blowBetween the crosses, row on row,That mark our place; and in the skyThe larks, still bravely singing, flyScarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days agoWe lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,Loved, and were loved, and now we lieIn Flanders Fields.Take up our quarrel with the foe:To you from failing hands we throwThe torch; be yours to hold it high.If ye break faith with us who dieWe shall not sleep, though poppies growIn Flanders fields.- John McCrae, 1915

Ahh group meetings.....
Well it is suffice to say that I survived the monday where I woke up from at 5 to drive my dad to the airport, volunteer at the welness and health career fair from 7-9 am, then class form 930-5, then presentation from 5-6, then work from 6-1am. That I must say was a spectacular day. You wouldn't believe how busy tim horton's is at 5 am... some people are just machines!!!!
But yes... today is ENTI 381 presentation day and we made about 270 in profits (so about 50 bucks each)... we practiced our presentation at 7am and I think the team is sick of my sarcasm...

LINKIN PARK AND JAY-Z ON A COLLISION COURSE
Linkin Park is proud to announce Jay-Z / Linkin Park: Collision Course, a new two disc CD/DVD to be released on November 30th.
Back on July 18, 2004 Jay-Z and Linkin Park got together at the Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood to do a combined performance in front of a select group of Linkin Park fans and Jay-Z fans. Linkin Park and Jay-Z got on stage together and performed a series of songs "mashed" together where Linkin Park lyrics were laced over Jay-Z's beats and vice versa. Mash-ups included Numb/Encore, Izzo/In the End, Dirt off Your Shoulder/Lying from You, and many more.
The Collision Course DVD contains the Roxy performance plus a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process of the collaboration, from their first introductions to recording to performance. The CD features studio recordings of the same song combinations that were preformed live that night.
Also included is the broadcast version of MTV ULTIMATE MASH-UPS, which is set to premiere on MTV on November 10, 2004 at 10:30 PM (eastern & pacific).

Well, straigh off Suprnova is an album by one kickass group: Scissor Sisters! They are from teh UK so they are more popular there but their single "Laura" was showcased on the Media Player Music Feature. Their sounds sorta remind me of classic late 80s early nineties pop that my sister used to listen to. Is this genre coming back casue I noticed the Killer's CD has those kinds of sounds too!

Gâyatrî Mantra
TAT
SAVITUR VARENYAM
BHARGO DEVASYA DHIMAHI
DHIYO YONAH
PRACHODAYAT
The Gâyatrî Mantra combines the effects of mantric sound with the effects of a deep and profound prayer, resulting in a combination which is exceedingly potent.
As with all spiritual practices, this is a vehicle for intent. The stronger and greater the intent, the stronger and greater the results.
Spiritual progress does not succeed merely by means of intellectual reasoning or theoretical arguments, but rather by direct experience. If you would like a deeper understanding of the Gâyatrî Mantra, it is well and good that you should begin with an intellectual understanding of the words and the intent, but that is only a preliminary step leading to your own direct experience of That Which is beyond words.

I have never kept a journal so I plan on keeping this up as long as I can... hopefully until I take it to the grave, or at least until computers are obsolete and these some other miracle techonology that replaces the internet (imagine!). So since this will be a record of my thoughts, reflections on my past and predictions of my future, everything on here requires me to use my brain - actually everything in my life requires my brain - and since senses, thoughts, emotions, or almost any other biological process relies the on the propagation of action potentials along nerves of the nervous system, how appropriate for me to call it blogpagation (a propagation of blogs - genius eh?) that's the geek to the max of in me. Hence, for my first post I find it appropriate to have a pic of my family - a sanctuary of unconditional love and security! Without them, I think I would be much worse off thus far in life. I am especially thankful and greatful of my parents for all of their LOVE and providing me with shelter, good ol' home cookin' , nice clothes, education and most importantly - LIFE!! from left to right - Steve (brother in law), Caren (sister), mum, dad, and me- the hottest guy in town! This was taken at Christina's wedding (2003), Caren's best friend.
